I’m Mike Paro, the owner of Paro Projects. After years of balancing private projects with work in fine art, film, television, museum fabrication, and remodeling, I’m excited to finally be building a more rooted local business here on the North Side of Chicago, where I live with my wife and two children.
I love helping people figure out their old houses. My philosophy is simple: often the most economical solution can be the most beautiful one.
I offer full-scale general contracting and remodeling services as well as specialty projects where I'm proud to offer my clients down-to-earth creativity at neighborly prices. With every project, I help homeowners find creative ways to increase the value and livability of their homes.
Sometimes that means restoring instead of replacing, reusing materials you already have, sourcing salvaged materials, or simply approaching a problem creatively instead of expensively.
Between art/design experience, 20 years building sets for film and television, residential remodeling, and extensive trade experience, I bring craftsmanship, ingenuity, and design thinking to every project without charging “design-build” prices.
